London Headshot and Portrait Photography

What are corporate headshots?

Corporate headshots are professional portraits of employees, executives or business owners, used to promote a business in its branding, marketing and networking. On the whole they are taken in a studio or office setting with a simple, plain background and using professional lighting to ensure a high quality, polished look. My studio is based in North London but I also work on location in and around London, Hertfordshire and beyond.

Types of headshots

  • Traditional Headshots – A formal, well-lit portrait with a plain or neutral background.
  • Environmental Headshots – Taken in a workplace setting to reflect the company’s culture.
  • Casual Headshots – More relaxed and natural, often used for startups or creative industries.
  • Group Headshots – Photos of teams or leadership groups for company websites or marketing materials.
  • What are corporate portraits?

Simply put, a portrait includes more of the shoulders and torso than a headshot. It may also be a wider, more dynamic shot which includes the person's environment (e.g. their office, boardroom, or workspace) to add context.

    Types of corporate portraits

  • Executive Portraits – Highlighting leadership and authority, often used in annual reports, company websites, and press releases.
  • Environmental Portraits – Capturing professionals in their work environment to showcase company culture.
  • Casual/Creative Portraits – Less formal, showing a relaxed and approachable side to the person.
  • Team Portraits – Group photos of departments or entire teams, often for branding and promotional use.
  • What are Acting Headshots?

Acting headshots are professional photos of actors used to showcase their appearance, personality, and versatility to casting directors, agents, and producers. They are a crucial part of an actor’s portfolio and help create a strong first impression. They often incorporate different styles, moods and outfit changes to fit various roles and a full acting shoot usually lasts longer than a corporate shoot.

What to expect on a headshot or portrait shoot

My lovely North London studio is easy to get to by public transport or by car, with plenty of parking nearby. If you have any accessibility issues, do let me know in advance so I can help to accommodate your needs.

Ahead of the headshot shoot I will already have given you some guidance, some of which you can read in my blog so you feel more confident.

When you arrive on the day of the shoot I will talk you through the process and give you a chance to settle in. If you have any outfit changes we would have a look at the options before we begin.

And the shoot itself is very relaxed, I'll guide you with poses, and I'll show you some of the photos every now and then so you can see how they are looking and what you like and what you'd like to adjust. And if you need to pause for a moment, that's absolutely fine!

Once the shoot is over I will be in touch within a few days to send you the gallery of unedited photos where you can select the ones you want, and shortly after that you will receive your edited photos!

Some testimonials from my headshot and portrait photography clients.

"Loved the experience. Louise made me feel totally relaxed and gave very clear guidance on what to do".

"Easy to reach location - chose to travel by tube and very easy to find! Would definitely recommend Louise, she made me feel very relaxed and what I love most is that my photo looks like me".

"I felt very relaxed and Lou gave great cues which helped with the flow of the shoot. We covered a great range of backdrop/clothing combos".

"I enjoyed experimenting with different angles and poses. Louise gave very clear and gentle instructions on the angles/poses. It was really helpful when Louise showed me some of the photos taken throughout the session which helped provide me with a visual cue as to what my poses/angles looked like so a form of a feedback loop. I am very visual as a learner".
